Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy is a science-based health profession concerned with assessing and treating musculoskeletal dysfunction. Using observation, movement analysis and specific testing of body structures physiotherapists diagnose and develop an appropriate treatment plan for the management of the condition.
Most people seek physiotherapy for pain relief, rehabilitation following injury or surgery, and preventative strategies. Treatment can help with conditions throughout the body and techniques involve soft tissue manipulation, joint mobilisation, flexibility and strengthening exercises, electrotherapy (to facilitate the healing process), preventative advice, ergonomic and postural education and rehabilitation.
James is uniquely qualified in osteopathy, (see below) which allows him to use his wide-ranging knowledge and experience to tailor the treatment to clients needs.
Osteopathy
Osteopathy concentrates on the musculoskeletal system (bones, joints, ligaments, connective tissue) and the way it interrelates with the body as a whole. It combines scientific knowledge of anatomy and physiology and clinical methods of investigation in association with a global appreciation of lifestyle to establish a ‘holistic’ image of an individual.
Traditionally known for the treatment of back pain osteopathy uses a careful and specific application of touch in the diagnosis and treatment of mechanical problems affecting any part of the body.Techniques range from soft tissue manipulation, to joint movements, high velocity thrusts, more indirect stretching and positioning and core rehabilitation. Osteopaths also use cranial and visceral techniques in their comprehensive management approach.
Reflexology
Reflexology works on the principle that all the body’s systems and structures are reflected in miniature on the soles of the feet and hands. Any discomfort or tension within the feet can indicate the corresponding organ or gland might not be working as efficiently as it could and by applying pressure to points on the feet can help return the body to a state of positive health and well being.
Nutritional Therapy
In Nutritional Therapy, every client is unique, and we look at each individual’s lifestyle and diet before agreeing a protocol for optimum health.

Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is a highly effective treatment that combines hypnosis and talking therapy to produce positive changes to a person’s longstanding beliefs, negative feelings, and behaviours. People are often consciously aware of their problems but they are still unable to change them.
Hypnosis is a safe, powerful technique which creates a deeply relaxed state of the mind and body. This is similar to a natural state that we enter in to many times a day; it happens when we are deeply absorbed in something, such as reading a book, watching TV or doing repetitive tasks. It is a relaxed state somewhere between being awake and asleep and is a little like daydreaming. Whilst in this state, the subconscious mind can be very receptive to beneficial suggestions, accepting directions which promote positive change.
You will always be aware of what is happening and you will always be in control. You will not reveal anything you do not want to. It is a relaxing and enjoyable experience.
